Jarak antara Part satu  dan Part dua lumayan jauh. Yaaaaa.... gimana lagi. Sibuk sih. Pergi pagi pulang malam terus. Jadinya baru sempet sekarang nih. Nyolong-nyolong waktu. :p

Oke, back to topic. Yang akan gue bahas kali ini adalah isi daripada album itu sendiri. Isi di sini yaitu musiknya, lagu-lagunya, nuansanya. 

Hanya saja, untuk kali ini yg di bahas adalah 12 track lagu di edisi reguler. Ini dia list-nya:

This House Is Not For Sale

Ini album ke-7 di mana Bon Jovi menggunakan nama lagu sebagai nama albumnya. Seperti biasa, lagu-lagu yang berada di awal album itu merupakan lagu yang beatnya menghentak-hentak. Lagu bercerita tentang sebuah "rumah" yang tidak untuk dijual, "rumah" yang harganya tak ternilai. Menurut gue, lagu ini menceritakan tentang Bon Jovi itu sendiri. Jon sepertinya ingin menceritakan gimana dia membangun "rumah" tersebut. Semua harapan, kegagalan, dan cerita lainnya yang membangun "rumah" tersebut membuat tak ternilai harganya.

Living With The Ghost

Awal-awal denger lagu ini agak aneh. Karena nuansanya gak biasa.  Lagunya juga entaht entang apa ya. Meski awal denger rada aneh, tapi lama-lama asik juga lagunya.

Dari namanya, kita bisa bilang lagu ini kayak tentang pertarungan, persaingan, dsb. Dari nuansanya juga bikin semangat ini lagu.

Labor of Love

Belum lengkap rasanya kalo gak ada lagu tentang love-love-an. Gak ketinggalan, diisi dengan lagu Labor of Love. Dengan kata-kata gombal khas Bon Jovi, cinta digambarkan seperti sebuah urusan yang tak akan pernah selesai. Musiknya pun mendayu-dayu. Mungkin sekilas teringat akan lagu Living In Sin ya. Videonya juga mirip-mirip sih. hehe.

Born Again Tomorrow

Shock theraphy, mungkin itu kata yang tepat untuk lagu ini. Gimana enggak, setelah Labor of Love yang mendayu-dayu, kita dihajar dengan lagu ini. Ditambah ini lagu lain dari semua lagu Bon Jovi yang pernah gue denger. Nuansanya lebih kekinian, lebih ringan, tapi cocok untuk penyemangat hari.

Di lagu ini, kita belajar untuk tidak menyerah, dan jangan pernah menyesal atas apa yang sudah terjadi sama hidup kita.

Bahkan video klipnya pun gak kalah keren. Diambil menggunakan teknik FP-POV (First Person Point of View; sudut pandang orang pertama). Menceritakan kehidupan seseorang. Mantep banget ini lagu. Gak salah kalo banyak yang suka.

Roller Coaster

Selesai Born Again Tomorrow, kita dibawa naik terus. Biar tetap semangat. Bukan main.

Sudah pernah naik roller coaster kan? Atau minimal ngeliatnya. Udah kan?

Nah. Lagu ini persis kayak roller coaster. Kenapa? Musiknya naik turun. Ada irama semangat, ada irama cooldownnya. Bener-bener beda emang.

Once again, ini lagu bertema tentang kehidupan, yang digambarkan seperti sebuah roller coaster, penuh dengan ups and downs.

Kalo kebanyakan lagu cerita tentang malam tahun baru, ini bercerita tentang hari pertama di tahun baru. Kalo baca artikel sebelumnya, taulah spasti lagunya.

The Devil's in the Temple

Lagu ini banyak banget distortnya. Entah gimana maksudnya, tapi mungkin kayak tentang penipuan ya. Gimana tempat yang suci (church, temple) dijadikan cover untuk kejahatan.

Scars on This Guitar

Setelah dihantam dengan beat keras dari lagu sebelumnya, ada sesi pendinginan di lagu ini. Scars on This Guitar.

Lagu ini menceritakan tentang gitarnya. Ya, lagu yang penuh berisi majas personifikasi. Ketika sehabis konser, selalu menghampiri gitarnya. Yang selalu setia menemaninya tanpa membantah sepatah kata. Gitarnya yang menjadi tempat curahan hatinya, semua pelampiasan.

Setelah Evil, muncullah God. Menurut gue, lagu ini menceritakan Jon itu sendiri. Rambutnya yang mulai memutih, suaranya yang sudah tidak seperti dulu, badannya yang mulai nyeri-nyeri, yang selalu tersenyum setiap saat, yang bikin party jadi meriah, dan lain sebagainya.

Ini jadi lagu favorit gue di album ini. 

Lagu ini cerita kalo masalah itu bukan akhir dari suatu pilihan, atau peristiwa, melainkan hanya sebuah "garpu" yang menghalangi jalan. Lagu ini juga mengajarkan kalo hidup itu kita yang bikin sendiri, benar atau salah kitalah yang menentukan.

Dan jangan lupa, kita ketemu lagi ketika reunian nanti.

Sebuah lagu penutup yang manis. Cuman ini yang bisa gue bilang untuk lagu ini. Album diakhiri dengan lagu ballad semi rock. Di awal album, kita diberitahu bahwa ada sebuah "rumah". Dan di akhir album, kita diundang untuk masuk ke "rumah" tersebut. Sebuah lagu yang benar-benar perfect untuk mengakhiri album ini.

Bagaimana mereka memulainya sebagai orang-orang asing terhadap satu sama lainnya. Dan pada akhirnya, mereka semua keluar sebagai teman. Dan meski kita begitu dekat, kita gak bisa tinggal selamanya bersama.

Kesimpulan

Memang benar album ini beda dari album yang sudah-sudah. Salah satu penyebabnya adalah absennya sang pemain gitar legendaris mereka, Richie Sambora, yang digantikan dengan Phil X.

Untuk album pertama tanpa keberadaan Richie, bisa dibilang album ini luar biasa. Sebuah pembuktian bahwa mereka masih bisa tetap menghasilkan karya yang wah.

Untuk final verdict, gue kasih skor 8.8/10 untuk album ini.
